Edward L. Greenspan, Q.C., L.L.D., D.C.L, is the senior partner of the Toronto law firm of Greenspan, White. He has been practicing in Toronto since 1970 and received his Queen’s Counsel in 1982. He is the author of Greenspan: The Case for the Defence, best selling autobiography, co-authored by George Jonas. He taught criminal law at the University of Toronto Law School for approximately 28 years. In 1999, he received an honourary Doctorate of Laws from the Law Society of Upper Canada and in 2002, he received an honourary Doctorate of Civil Law from the University of Windsor. In 2004, he received a further honourary Doctorate of Laws from Assumption University. Mr. Greenspan was awarded the G. Arthur Martin Medal for outstanding contribution to Canadian criminal law in 2001.

Mr. Greenspan's practice includes defending people charged with criminal offences, acting in Securities Act investigations and prosecutions, income tax investigations, coroners' inquests, defending people charged under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act and defending Professional Discipline Complaints before administrative tribunals. He has been involved in some of the most high profile criminal cases in Canada.
