WELCOME TO GREENSPAN WHITE
Greenspan, White is a Toronto law firm practicing primarily in the area of criminal law, defending those charged with criminal offences. The firm also represents people involved in Securities Act investigations and prosecutions; income tax investigations and prosecutions; coroner’s inquests; Extradition Act matters; Occupational Health and Safety Act matters; Environmental Protection Act prosecutions; and Professional Discipline Complaints proceedings before various administrative tribunals. Greenspan, White conducts trials and appeals at all levels of Court across Canada, including appeals to the Supreme Court of Canada. Since its inception, the firm has been involved in some of the most high profile cases in Canada.
Edward (“Eddie”) L. Greenspan, Q.C. is the senior partner of Greenspan, White. He has been practicing in Toronto since 1970. He received his Queen’s Counsel in 1982. He is the author of “Greenspan: The Case for the Defence”, a best-selling autobiography co-authored with George Jonas. Mr. Greenspan taught criminal law at the University of Toronto Law School for approximately 28 years. In 1999, he received an honourary Doctorate of Law from the Law Society of Upper Canada. In 2002 and 2004, respectively, he received honourary Doctorates of Civil Law from the University of Windsor and Assumption University.
Todd B. White, Esq. is a partner of Greenspan, White. He has practiced with the firm in Toronto since his call to the Bar in 1992 and became a partner in 1998. Mr. White taught Criminal Procedure at the Law Society of Upper Canada’s Bar Admission Course between 1993 and 2005. In addition, he is a guest lecturer in the areas of Evidence, Criminal Law, and Trial Advocacy at Osgoode Hall Law School, The University of Toronto Law School and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Toronto.
